Accelink recently released its most recent research findings in the field of distributed optical fiber sensing at the OFC 2023, and once again established a new record in the field .
The BOTDR+φOTDR fusion distributed fiber sensing system with a single terminal length of 208 km for sensing set a new record for long-distance sensing—the multi-dimensional fusion sensing system can achieve real-time sensing of four dimensions in a single fiber core, including vibration, stress, temperature, and attenuation. These research results were presented by Accelink at a special presentation on optical fiber sensing titled “208 km ultra-long single span hybrid BOTDR and φ OTDR with ROPA technology.”
This is another innovation following the result of φOTDR single-end 100 km sensing distance, which was presented at ICOCN 2021, and the result of φOTDR single-end 175 km sensing distance, which was presented at OFS 2022.
Sensing technology is widely acknowledged as the most promising high-tech industry , and is widely regarded as one of the three pillars of modern information technology as the cutting edge of modern science and technology. In order to process and transmit optical signals, the optical fiber sensing technology heavily depends on optical fiber sensors, which are primarily employed for precise measurement.
Accelink’s Φ-OTDR is a technological approach with the highest sensitivity in distributed optical fiber sensing. The technology used in this innovation has been deployed and applied in a variety of long-span optical sensing networks, providing feasible and efficient solutions for smart grids, communication operators, petroleum and petrochemical industry, transportation, civil construction, geological and seismic monitoring, and other scenarios involving optical sensing networks in a complex environment, thereby enhancing the quality of people’s lives, and improving the level of urban construction.
